Kulmbach gets its first Christopher Street Day in 2026, organised by a local cultural association under the motto Kulmbach braut Vielfalt, a play on the brewing trade the Upper Franconian town is known for.
The demonstration gathers at the Gasfabrikgäßchen near the railway station, moves through the centre by way of Fritz-Hornschuch-Straße, Kressenstein and Langgasse into the upper old town, and ends on the Marktplatz with speeches and music.
An aftershow follows at the Kulturschule in Gößmannsreuth, a few kilometres out of town, with live music, food, drinks and information stands. A shuttle bus runs there from the central bus station.
For a town this size in northern Bavaria a first CSD is a larger undertaking than the programme suggests, and the organisers are open about needing donations and volunteers to get it onto the street.
