Bit 77 is a corner pub in Cracau, a residential district east of Krefeld's centre, on a stretch of the Luisenstraße made up of flats and small shops rather than nightlife. It has a place in the city's gay scene, which is small, has no club of its own and rests on bars that are open to everybody.
It is a neighbourhood house rather than a scene bar: a counter, a handful of tables, drinks rather than a kitchen, and a room that is mostly regulars. What people praise it for is the welcome and the talk at the bar.
It is a walk or a short tram ride out from the Altstadt, so it works better as an evening in its own right than as one stop on a night out.
