Zur Kaiserin is a small bar in the Altstadt, wedged between Barcelon Colonia and Baustelle4U near Heumarkt. One room, a few tables on the pavement in summer, and no concept beyond being a bar.
It has the oldest regulars of any gay bar in Cologne, most of them between fifty and seventy, and the tone follows from that. Drag shows run regularly with a resident queen.
If the Schaafenstraße bars feel too young or too loud, this is the room people move to.
