The Achterspannerhof is a private club for gay and bisexual men on a farm in the countryside west of Koblenz, on the road between Polch and Wolken. It is a working farmstead building rather than a converted city basement, and that is most of its character: stone walls, a garden, and the nearest neighbours a field away.
Inside there is a bar with a sitting area that doubles as a dance floor, a Finnish sauna, and play rooms spread over three floors, including a small leather studio. The house motto is "alles kann, nichts muss". A masseur is on site during club nights. Guest rooms are available for people who do not want to drive back the same night, and the stay includes a shared breakfast the next morning, which turns the club night into something closer to a weekend away.
The club runs on set club nights rather than daily opening, and room bookings go by email. Card payment is not accepted, so bring cash.
Getting there without a car is easier than the location suggests. Bus line 340 between Koblenz Hauptbahnhof and Polch stops directly in front of the farm and runs at weekends too. By car it is the Ochtendung or Kobern-Gondorf exit off the A48.
