b2 is an LGBTQI* bar and lounge in the Vorderer Westen, the residential quarter west of Kassel's centre. It describes itself in exactly those words and has done for years.
Cocktails, gin and wine are the drinks side of it. Behind the house there is a garden, which is the reason to come in summer. The room itself is decorated rather than styled, with paintings and objects that change.
The programme runs to drag shows, day raves and evenings built around art, including a reading of old master paintings through a queer lens. It is women-run, and the crowd is mixed rather than one scene.
