The Aquarium is Karlsruhe's gay sauna, in Mühlburg west of the centre. It describes itself as the sauna for men who love men, and it runs over three floors and around 600 square metres.
There is a dry sauna, a bio sauna and a steam sauna, a whirlpool and a caldarium. Rest cabins, some with video screens, sit alongside a DVD cinema, a solarium and a spacious darkroom, and an outdoor area opens up in warm weather. A bistro counter serves drinks and light food.
Entry is men only, 18 and over. Lockers, towels, shower gel, hair dryers, condoms and lubricant are provided and there is free WiFi, so a visit needs nothing brought along. The house puts cleanliness and friendliness first and says the crowd covers every age group.
