Pride Pictures 2026, Queer Film Festival Karlsruhe

Pride Pictures is the queer film festival in Karlsruhe and reaches its 33rd edition in 2026. It grew out of the Lesbisch-Schwule Filmtage founded in 1994 and is one of the larger queer film festivals in Germany.

Screenings run at two cinemas: the Kinemathek in the Kaiserpassage, a few steps from Europaplatz, and the Filmtheater Schauburg on the Marienstraße. The programme is international features, documentaries and curated short film blocks, with filmmaker discussions, panel events and a festival party around it. The festival gives out its own PRISM Award.

A festival pass covers every screening and the opening party, and is personal rather than transferable. Seating is not reserved even when you book online, so the queue outside the Kinemathek forms early for the popular titles.
