The Apollo Sauna on the Max-Brauer-Allee in Altona has been part of Hamburg's gay scene for more than forty years, and its owner likes to call it a village sauna rather than a fancy spa. It runs over two floors with a dry and a steam sauna, free cabins, a video room, a darkroom and a sling.
The crowd covers all ages and the feel is friendly and unhurried. On top of the everyday sauna it puts on fetish nights and its Apollo Heat events, plus seasonal parties like Midsommar.
