The M&V Bar has been on the Lange Reihe near the Hauptbahnhof since 1953, which makes it one of the oldest bars in St. Georg. Over the decades it turned into a gay meeting point, and today queer couples make up most of the room, though the bar keeps its door open for everyone.
It is a small, warm neighbourhood bar with draught beer, long drinks and a wide wine list, and a buffet is put out on some evenings. The name stands for matrosen, millionaire, vielflieger and more, a nod to the mixed crowd that has always passed through.
