The BBZ lebensart is Halle's queer centre, a non-profit association that calls itself a specialist centre for gender and sexual identity. It sits on Beesener Straße in Glaucha, south of the city centre.
The centre offers counselling for LGBTI people and for their families, runs a set of regular groups, and keeps a library and information collection that visitors can use. Its education work reaches into schools and into training for social and care professions.
For a visitor the meeting side matters most. A regular queer club evening for adults runs here, and the centre is one of the two organisations behind Halle's CSD. It also compiles the queer guide for the wider central German region.
Halle has few permanent queer venues, which makes the centre the fixed address for anyone trying to find the local scene.
