erogene Zone is a queer feminist sex shop and education collective on the Grethergelände, in the same courtyard as the city's LGBTIQ centre. It is run collectively rather than by an owner, and it treats selling and teaching as one job. The collective calls it a sex-positive room for pleasure instead of shame.
The shop stocks sex toys, menstrual products and related goods, chosen with attention to materials and to who makes them. Alongside the counter it runs workshops and skillshares on sex, bodies and relationships, aimed at adults and at young people, and covering all genders and all forms of consensual sex.
Access was designed in rather than added on. The sales floor can be crossed in a wheelchair, the counter has sections at different heights, the changing room is oversized, there is an accessible toilet, and a lift reaches the workshop area.
