Amsterdam is the old one. It has been a gay sauna in Sachsenhausen, south of the Main, for over fifty years, and it went through a full refurbishment recently.
There are three saunas: a Finnish one running around 90 degrees with tiered benches, a bio sauna at 50 to 60 degrees for anyone who finds that too much, and a steam sauna held at 43 degrees, dimmed and scented, with alcoves off it. A whirlpool sits between them, and there are two rest rooms and a bed room to lie down in. Massage is available.
The summer garden with loungers and the restaurant with its bar and terrace are what set the place apart from the other two saunas in the city. It is the quieter, more comfortable of them. The site carries a 360 degree tour if you want to see the layout first.
