About

The LSKH opened in 1991 as Frankfurt's Lesbisch-Schwules Kulturhaus and now calls itself the Queeres Kulturhaus. It is the non-commercial half of the city's queer life, five minutes from the bars on Alte Gasse but a different world from them.

The house is run by volunteers under the LLL association, with support from the city's office for multicultural affairs alongside members and donations. Queer groups of every kind meet in its rooms, from self-help circles to political collectives and performance ensembles, and new people can drop into most of them.

The programme covers concerts, readings, film and theatre, dance, festivals, bar evenings and parties. The building also holds LUQS, the lesbian archive and queer collection, with books and media on lesbian history. Rooms can be requested for group use.
