The OX's is the club cellar of the Thueringer Lederclub, a leather and fetish association started in Erfurt in 1994 by eight men shortly after reunification. Members built the rooms themselves and staff the bar, so it feels like a clubhouse rather than a business.

Men over 18 are welcome. The club calls itself a home base and safe space for gay men in the region's fetish community, and it has widened over the years from leather to rubber, sportswear, uniform, puppy and dog play and ABDL. There is no compulsory dress code on the open nights and gear is encouraged rather than required. Full crossdress outfits, women's clothing, open shoes and flip-flops are not allowed.

Downstairs there is a bar with seating and standing room, changing rooms, free lockers, and fixed bondage and spanking equipment. Further rooms exist and the club would rather you found them on a visit than read about them. Photography and filming are strictly forbidden, condoms and lubricant are free, and heavy drunkenness gets you turned away at the door.

Alongside the open nights the club runs themed weekends through the year, among them a rubber weekend, an international doggy weekend, an ABDL weekend and a master and slave weekend. Those draw guests from other German cities and from abroad.
