Zum Pitter sits on Alter Markt in the middle of the tourist Altstadt and has been part of the Cologne gay scene for a long time. The terrace on the square is the reason most people pick it in summer, and it is one of the few gay bars in the city with a proper outdoor seat.
Drag shows run regularly. Inside it is a pub rather than a bar, with Kölsch and a room built for talking.
The crowd is gay-oriented but mixed, partly because of where it sits. Tourists who wandered in from the square are part of the picture.
