Inkognito is an adult shop and a cinema in one building, on Theaterstraße right beside the Stadttheater and about as central as Augsburg gets. The cinema half is where the gay cruising happens, and the venue says so itself rather than leaving it to be inferred.
The cruising area runs to roughly 250 square metres of air conditioned rooms. Films play nonstop and change without a fixed programme, so there is nothing to time your visit around. Separate from that are the multi video cabins, coin and note operated, with well over a thousand titles you choose yourself.
The shop is a substantial part of the place rather than a counter by the door, at around 200 square metres. Next to the general stock of magazines, condoms, lubricants, oils and toys it keeps a gay range of its own.
The house also runs themed evenings with dress codes. Augsburg has no gay bar and no gay sauna, so for a city of this size Inkognito carries more of the scene than a shop and cinema normally would.
