About this Event
CSD Aachen runs over two days on the squares at the middle of the old town. The demonstration goes on the Saturday, setting off from the main station and ending at the Markt and the Katschhof, the square between the cathedral and the town hall that the organisers use as their main stage site.
The street festival takes both squares for the whole weekend, with a stage programme of queer musicians and drag acts, information and sales stands, and an evening line-up that carries on after the march has finished. Around it sits a wider programme of workshops, readings, a queer church service and sport sessions spread across the city.
The organisers put unusual weight on getting the practical side right, publishing an accessibility page, an awareness concept and a code of conduct, plus a version of the whole programme in plain German. The motto is 'Aachen bleibt bunt, queer, solidarisch, stark'.
