The Queerreferat is the queer students' association of Aachen's universities, and unlike most student groups it has premises of its own: a former restaurant on quiet Gerlachstraße, a few minutes from the queer centre. You do not have to be a student to walk in.
The rooms hold a library and a bar that opens for the association's own evenings. One of them is built around their cocktails, another is a pub night that rotates between karaoke, gaming and darts. The larger party, Pink Fluffy Unicorn, moves to the Musikbunker once a semester. There is also a drag show, and a counselling service for trans people.
The entrance is step-free by ramp and the door has a button opener. The association says plainly that its bathroom does not meet every need, which is more than most places will tell you. Schanz station is close by, with bus stops at Luisenhospital and Jakobsplatz.
