Leicester Pride is on Saturday 5 September 2026. The parade forms up outside the Curve theatre in the cultural quarter and sets off at 12 noon. The festival that follows in Abbey Park is free to get into and runs until 9pm.
The route is 1.7 miles: through the Lanes, across Jubilee Square, along the High Street and then out to the park. The organisers put the previous route at 1.6 miles and say the current one passes through more of the city centre.
Abbey Park has two entrances for the day, from Charter Street and from St Margaret's Pastures, and a free bus runs throughout the day from the Rainbow & Dove. Inside there is a main stage and a dance arena with room for more than a thousand, along with several bars.
Four rules are worth knowing before you set out, because they are applied at the gate. No alcohol may be drunk on the parade. No glass, alcohol, drugs or sharps come onto the site. Bags are searched on entry. And Challenge 25 operates at every bar, so carry ID if you are anywhere near it.
Leicester Pride is run by a registered charity, number 1137667, rather than by the council or a promoter, and has been under its present management since 2009. The line-up, the route map and the plan of the park are in the 2026 Pride Guide on its own site.
