Le Temps des Pauses is a maison d'hôtes and wellness centre in a former 19th-century farmhouse in Viviers, the old cathedral town on the Rhône in the south of the Ardèche.
There are four air-conditioned guest rooms, each decorated differently: Atout Cœur, Caresses et Petits Pois, Jardin d'Eden and Dolce Vita. A separate gîte is let as well.
Guests use a salt-water pool and a spa, and massages and other treatments can be booked in the house. The garden is shaded by a lime tree, breakfast is served in the morning, and meals made with local produce can be booked. Children under 12 are not accepted, and the layout of the house is not suited to guests with reduced mobility.
