Le Molineuf stands by the water in the village of Molineuf, in the commune of Valencisse, a few minutes west of Blois. It is a white village house with dark green shutters, and the old sign for the Hôtel du Pont is still painted on the gable. Three things go on inside it: a restaurant, five guest rooms and a small wellness space.
The cooking is traditional and made in the house, starters, mains and puddings alike, from fresh produce bought in season nearby. Three trained cooks run the kitchen. There is a terrace by the water for warm weather and a fireplace for the rest of the year, and food can be ordered to take away.
Of the five rooms, one is a double, three are triples and one is a family room. Through the year the house puts on concerts, theme evenings, art walks and a bric-à-brac.
