Le Gautama is a gay sauna in the middle of Toulon, a short walk from the port and easy to reach on foot from most of the centre. It is men only, and describes itself plainly as a sauna gay.
Inside there is a dry sauna, a hammam, a video room, a bar and a reading corner, with lockers at the entrance. The floor area is around 320 square metres. Some nights are naturist.
One practical point the sauna makes itself, and it is worth knowing before you arrive: there are no facilities for intimate washing on the premises, on hygiene grounds and because the regional health authority does not permit them. Guests are asked to shower thoroughly with soap instead. The sauna also passes on local sexual health information to its customers, including where to find free screening in the city.
