Sauna Equateur has been running since 1991, which makes it the oldest gay address still open in Strasbourg. It is on the first floor of a building near the main station, within a few minutes of three tram stops.
Inside there is a Finnish sauna kept hot and scented with essential oils, a steam room with automatic fragrance diffusion, showers, private cabins, a labyrinth, a dark room with a glory hole, a video room and quiet corners to lie down in. There is a smoking area and a bar.
It is men only, and it calls itself the only entirely gay sauna in the city. The essences in the dry sauna and the fragrance in the hammam are refreshed through the day, which is the detail the house is proudest of.
