Erotic Shop 974 has been on Rue de l'Amiral Lacaze in Saint-Denis since 1998 and is the largest adult shop on Réunion. It has been a member of SNEG, the French gay trade association, since 2001. The shelves are sex toys, lingerie, poppers, DVDs, magazines and erotic books.
At the back are private viewing cabins, each with a seat, an HD screen and a remote. You can go in alone or with someone for the same money, and the cabins have gloryholes. Filming and photography are banned, which the shop sums up as what happens in the cabin stays in the cabin. The whole place, cabins included, is air conditioned in summer.
It is on the Saint-Jacques side of the city centre, a few streets back from the seafront.
