About this Event
Global Black Pride is an international Pride for Black LGBTQIA+ communities that moves from host city to host city, and after Toronto and Atlanta it comes to Paris. The edition is built around francophone Afroqueer communities, who the organisers say are the least visible part of it.
The march and rally are the centre of the week. The cortège leaves Square Léon in the Goutte d'Or, passes through Château Rouge and Château d'Eau and ends at Place de la République. Drummers, floats and delegations walking as regional blocks make up the procession, with vogue and ballroom, music and speeches along the route. The theme is Freedom to Build.
A five-day programme runs around the march: an opening reception, an assembly on power, culture and innovation, an awards gala, a music festival, an after party and a closing day party. The assembly takes registration through the organiser. The march itself needs none.
