Open Cafe is on rue des Archives and calls itself the gay terrace of the Marais. The terrace is the reason to come. It is heated in the colder months and stays in use all year, which is unusual for the street.
The kitchen does large salads, club sandwiches, burgers, plancha grills, pasta and a daily special. Inside, the bar runs around a central counter with cocktails, draught beer and champagne.
It sits opposite Cox, and between the two of them they hold the busiest crossroads in gay Paris. Earlier in the evening it is more of a cafe than a bar, and it works fine for eating.
