Duplex is one of the first gay bars to open in the Marais, tucked slightly off the main strip on Rue Michel le Comte. Its own description is one word, conviviality, and it plays out as a laid-back, unpretentious bar rather than a dance spot.
There is a mezzanine, a smoking room and rotating art on the walls, with happy hour specials most evenings. It has run under the same name for decades and is still treated as one of the neighbourhood's originals.
