Nîmes Club Sauna is a men-only sauna in the middle of Nîmes, a few streets from the Maison Carrée and the arenas. It says it has been open for more than thirty-seven years.
The house runs to about 500 square metres and holds a jacuzzi, a hammam, a dry sauna, cabins, dark rooms, a smoking room, showers and a bar. A labyrinth in the dark part of the building is built with corners and recesses for meeting people. The changing room has more than 110 lockers, with hangers and a hairdryer.
Once a month there is a hard afternoon. No towels are handed out, the jacuzzi and the dry sauna stay shut, and the hammam becomes one large backroom. Shoes are required, clothes are optional, and anyone who leaves does not get back in.
The bar and the corridors are air conditioned in summer. Wifi is free, there is a defibrillator on site, and the house has been adapted for visually impaired visitors.
