A bookshop and bistro that has been one of the fixed points of feminist and queer life in Nice since 2018. The cafe and the main bookshop face each other across the street, with a separate children's bookshop on the other side.
It is also a place with a record. In 2022 the police obscured its windows during an official visit to the city, and the shop took the state to court over it and won in early 2026. That fight is part of why it matters locally, and why its closure was news well beyond Nice.
The founders left in May 2026 and the shop shut for the summer, then reopened in August under new owners who have kept the feminist and activist line. The stock is general, with a feminist and queer heart to it, and there is a steady programme of author talks and book presentations.
