About

The Lotus Tree is a gay guesthouse at Montclus in the northern Gard, out in open country above the Cèze and within sight of the medieval village. It says it was the first gay guesthouse to open outside Paris, back in 2001.

Guests stay in studios and chalets rather than in rooms. There is a classic studio, a garden studio, a premium studio with a fitted kitchen, a dishwasher and a terrace looking down the valley, and a chalet in the garden shaded by holm oaks. Each one has its own kitchen or kitchen corner, its own bathroom and its own outdoor table, and bedding, towels, crockery and cutlery come with it. Nobody cooks for you here.

The pool and the garden are large and screened from the road. Clothes are optional in both, which the house says is a large part of why people come.

The site is kept in English and French, and the Cèze gorges, Barjac and the Ardèche are all within a short drive.
