About

La Bastide de Pachoquin is a guesthouse in an eighteenth-century Provencal house in the Gapeau valley, between Toulon and the inland hills. The building was a paper mill before it was a house, and an aqueduct runs the length of it; one of its arches is the way through to the garden.

Five rooms are let, along with an apartment with a mezzanine and a cottage with a vaulted room. Breakfast is included and the dining room opens onto the courtyard. Wifi and parking come with the house.

The garden looks down the valley, there is a spa for six in a vaulted room and a fitness room, and a waterfall can be reached from the grounds. George Sand wrote about the place in her account of travelling through the midi, calling it the property whose owner gave the locality its odd name.
