Le Mineshaft is a gay leather and BDSM club on Rue Mazagran, about five hundred metres from the Canebière. It is the premises of the FSMC, a registered association, and calls itself the oldest French hard leather gay BDSM club, created in 1967.
The club uses three levels. The bar is on the ground floor. The floor above has individual lockable lockers, and footwear stays on. The basement is the play area, with a sling, a St Andrew's cross, a cage, private cabins and the accessories that go with them.
Entry is by evening pass, which comes with drink tickets, and the lockers cost nothing. Leather, fetish, watersports, fisting, bdsm and spanking sessions all appear on the programme, and a fist party recurs each month. Parking is at the Gambetta car park.
