XS Bar is a small gay bar on the Presqu'ile, the peninsula between the Rhone and the Saone where most of Lyon's queer nightlife sits. It opened in 2010 and calls itself a safe place. New owners took it over in 2025.
The crowd it names itself is broad: bears, daddies, twinks, drag performers and whoever else walks in. It is a talking bar rather than a dancing one, small enough that people end up in conversation with the next table.
Themed nights run regularly and are announced on Instagram and Facebook. Rue Claudia is a two-minute walk from Rue Tupin and Rue Sainte-Catherine, so it works well as a first stop before moving on.
