The L Bar is the lesbian bar of Lyon, on rue du Garet just off place des Terreaux, and the French guides tend to call it the only one. It works as a bar and a kitchen at once: cocktails made in house, organic burgers, fries, and board games on the tables.
It is quiet and cocooning in the afternoon and festive at night, with drag shows and screenings of women's football among the things that fill it. The room is welcoming rather than exclusive, and men are not turned away.
It sits in the middle of the Presqu'île, which is where most of the Lyon scene is, so it is an easy first stop.
