Le Privilège has been on rue Royale in the Vieux-Lille since 2005, which makes it the longest-running gay bar in the city. It runs over three levels and has a dance floor, and the kitchen side of it stops at cocktails and tapas.
The programme is built on karaoke, drag shows and DJ sets, with blind tests and themed nights in between. The bar says of itself that the party is more often improvised than planned, and the crowd is largely local.
It stands in the old town within a few minutes on foot of the other gay addresses in the quarter, which is why it tends to be where an evening starts.
