Au-Gré du Lot is a gay-friendly guest house in a nineteenth-century coaching inn at Le Bourg, in the Lot between Rocamadour and Figeac. The house has been fully renovated and decorated with plenty of character: mandala murals, macramé hangings, sculpted animal heads and framed sketches.
There are three suites and a studio, each for two. La Porte des Rêves is calm and done in natural materials. Rococo mixes vintage pieces with modern ones. La Bonne Embourgeoisée sits under the eaves, has air conditioning and a slightly British look, a wink at the servants' rooms it once was. Le Perchoir is a self-contained studio built like a raised cabin.
Breakfast is included. Outside there is a garden and a terrace with a barbecue and a plancha, and there is a hot tub. Massage and energy treatments can be booked at the house. Children are not taken unless agreed in advance, and pets are not allowed.
