QG Sauna stands on Avenue Coligny in the Mail district of La Rochelle, a short walk from the Casino and the seafront. It is the only sauna inside the city itself.
The wet area is a jacuzzi, a hammam scented with eucalyptus and mint, and a dry Finnish sauna. That part is naturist throughout and swimwear is not allowed in it. Three floors above hold the play areas, among them a labyrinth, a sling and a Saint Andrew's cross. There is a bar with a full licence, and the building is air conditioned end to end, which the venue makes a point of.
This is not a men-only sauna. The club runs gay and bi sessions alongside mixed libertine ones, so which crowd is in depends on when you go. Men are expected in a pareo, and pareos, towels and flip-flops come with entry.
