About

Chalet l'Écureuil is three self-catering places to stay on one wooded plot above La Bâtie-Neuve, at a thousand and fifty metres, on the edge of the Sapet forest and looking down the Avance valley. The view from the terraces runs across the valley to the ridges on the far side.

Each of the three takes two people and no more. The gîte is a ground-floor flat of twenty-six square metres with a south-facing terrace. The independent chalet is thirty square metres with a covered terrace of eighteen. The cabane perchée stands fifty metres into the wood at the end of a footpath, twenty square metres raised off the ground, with a covered terrace of its own. All three have a kitchen, a shower room, a bed of a hundred and sixty by two hundred and a private hot tub on the terrace, and all three have fibre broadband.

Massages can be booked. No pets are taken, and the two-person limit counts infants. The lake of Serre-Ponçon is about ten minutes away and Gap about fifteen, the ski stations half an hour, and the Écrins national park is close.
