L'Escapade is a gîte d'étape et de séjour in Ayrues, a hamlet of fourteen people at 1,200 metres above Gèdre, three minutes from the village and at the gates of the Pyrenees National Park. It stands on the GR 10 and looks up to the Piméné and the Munia, with the cirques of Gavarnie, Estaubé and Troumouse all within reach, and it carries the park's Esprit Parc National mark.
The main house is a fully renovated sheepfold of 340 square metres that sleeps up to 25 in five bedrooms, with five bathrooms, a lounge of 65 square metres with a fireplace, a hall of 50 square metres, a games room with table tennis, a terrace and a barbecue. It can be taken self-catering, half board or full board, which makes it a base for walking groups and courses.
Next to it are two furnished apartments. Le Piméné 1 has 110 square metres for six in three bedrooms and a panoramic balcony facing the Cirque de Troumouse; Le Piméné 2 is smaller, for four. A small chalet for two stands a few steps away, with no TV and a view of the cirque, where deer and birds of prey come close. Pets are not accepted anywhere.
