Tiki Palm Beach is a small resort for gay men only in the countryside at Gardanne, about ten minutes from Aix-en-Provence and twenty from Marseille. It bills itself as a Balinese escape in Provence.
There is a studio lodge for two to four people with a kitchen, a private terrace and a plancha, and two rooms for couples, each with its own terrace. Breakfast is included and served under a pergola.
The garden is tropical, with palms, bamboo, hibiscus and Balinese statues around a heated lagoon-style pool with a waterfall, whirlpool jets, a shallow beach entry and an infinity edge, plus a jacuzzi. Men who are not staying can book a pool afternoon.
The hosts run a weekly programme of film nights, barbecues with cocktails, music quizzes, board games, paella dinners and pool parties, and a brunch with pétanque.
