Bastide de la Dougue is a gay guest house at Congénies, a village between Nîmes and Montpellier and about half an hour from the Camargue beaches. The building is a seventeenth-century winemaker's house that has been restored.
There are five rooms, each named after something out of the country around it: Les Arènes, La Manade, Les Salines, La Rizière, La Féria. Outside there is a ten-metre pool, a jacuzzi, a small gym and mountain bikes to borrow, and parking is on site.
The kitchen serves a table d'hôtes in the evening, so guests can eat in the house instead of driving out for dinner. It takes adults only, and it describes itself as exclusively gay over the high summer and LGBTQ friendly the rest of the year. Its emblem is the Camargue cross drawn in rainbow colours.
