L'Happy Café has been the gay bar in Brest since 2004, on rue Jean Jaurès a little east of the centre. Google files it under gay bar and so does everyone in the city. The crowd runs across generations rather than settling on one age group.
Karaoke on a big screen is what the bar is known for. Around it sit open mic evenings, DJ sets and themed nights, and at the weekend the room works as a small club. Cocktails are made in house.
It changed hands in June 2026. The new owner had been working behind the counter here for two years and has said the plan is to keep the character of the place and add to it rather than start again.
