Philippe is a queer bar in the middle of Bordeaux, on Rue Bouquière in the Saint-Paul quarter. It opened after several of the city's LGBTQ+ venues shut one after another, and it was set up deliberately as a space for the whole community rather than for one part of it.
Tapas come out alongside the drinks, and there are tables on the street. Drag and lip-sync nights are a regular fixture and there is live music.
The room is small and it fills up in the evening. The premises used to be a pizza place.
