Le Plumeau is a queer bar in the Chartrons, north of the centre and a short walk from the Émile Counord tram stop. It calls itself a queer bar but not only that, and the crowd it draws is mixed.
The room is dark and the music is chosen rather than piped. Weekends bring drag performances, DJ sets and karaoke, with local drag artists doing lip-sync and comedy.
The same team runs the cabaret at the same address, so performers move between the two rooms and a show sometimes spills over from one into the other. The bar also builds and runs a float for the city's Pride each year.
