Villa Alba en Provence is an adults-only guesthouse at Besse-sur-Issole, in the green country between the inland hills and the coast. It is run by a couple who spent years being put up around the world and now do the putting up.
Two independent rooms are let, called Emeraude and Azur. Breakfast is included and made to order at whatever hour suits. Lunch, cocktails and drinks can be had on the spot, and massages can be arranged.
The garden has a long stone-edged pool that is lit at night. Bicycles and a boules court come with the house, along with wifi and a concierge service. No animals.
Besse-sur-Issole is a small Provencal village with a lake in the middle of it. The Gulf of Saint-Tropez and the coast are both within a drive.
