Turku's only gay bar, on Yliopistonkatu a couple of blocks from the market square. It opened in 2004 and is one of the few bars in the city still in its original room under its original owners.
The bar calls itself a safe haven of equality, and the one thing it asks of guests is ordinary, considerate behaviour, with radicalism of any kind left outside the door. The crowd is a gay and lesbian mix and mostly local.
Karaoke is what the place is known for. The song list runs past 100,000 titles and you queue your own from a phone app or from the iPad on the bar counter. At weekends the dance floor opens instead, with a DJ. There are magazines and a shelf of board games, and the wifi is free.
