Helsinki Pride is a week of events across the Finnish capital. The programme runs through the week, with talks, club nights, community gatherings and events put on by organisations and venues all over the city.
The week ends with the Helsinki Pride Parade and the Park Festival that follows it. The parade is a march through the city centre that draws tens of thousands of people, with rainbow and trans flags, banners from associations, workplaces and political groups, and a long stretch of people who simply walk along. The park festival afterwards has stages, food and a big crowd on the grass.
The organiser is Helsinki Pride -yhteisö, a membership association that has worked on the rights and wellbeing of sexual and gender minorities since 1991 and runs community activities in Helsinki the rest of the year.
