Hercules Gay Nightclub

Hercules is Helsinki's gay nightclub, on the third floor of the Citycenter building that everyone calls Makkaratalo, on the corner of Kaivokatu and Keskuskatu directly opposite the central railway station. The entrance is on the Kaivokatu side. The club calls itself the largest gay club in the Nordic countries.

It has run since 2000, first in Kamppi and then in Etu-Töölö, and moved into the railway station site in October 2021. There are two dance floors playing different things, a large bar area, and a covered terrace looking out over the city centre.

The music is dance-floor pop rather than anything underground: electronic dance, Eurodance, Eurovision entries and Finnish standards. The crowd skews older than the rest of the city's queer nightlife.
