Hugo's Bar opened at the top of Annankatu in Punavuori on Christmas Eve 2025, in the room that held the FlyAF bar until earlier that year. It is a beer and drinks bar rather than a club: no dance floor, Motown on the speakers, dogs welcome.
The name carries a line of bars that have run in these few streets since 2002, including Hugo's Room around the corner on Iso Roobertinkatu until 2015. Annankatu sits in the middle of what is left of the old Punavuori scene, a couple of minutes from Iso Roobertinkatu and from Uudenmaankatu.
It is small and it fills with regulars. The Finnish LGBT service directory lists it among the bars serving sexual and gender minorities, and a summer terrace is planned.
