U Rudolfa is a basement pub on Mezibranská, a short walk from the National Museum, and it bills itself as the oldest gay beer pub in Prague. It has kept the 1990s Czech pub format rather than modernising into a cocktail bar.
Three rooms, a jukebox, and Pilsner Urquell and Gambrinus on tap. Card payment is not accepted. Board game evenings run in the back room.
The regulars are mostly local, mostly older, with a bear lean, and conversation carries the evening more than music does. It is a very different night out from the Vinohrady bars ten minutes up the road, which is the point of it.
